Sebastien is a London-based artist producing abstract artworks that are packed with data. His background is software engineering and he has past experiences in graphic design and publishing. He is focused on how pieces can elicit emotions through the stories they contain.
Besides the eclectic data sets used as the raw material in the artworks, his visual languages covers organic looking textures, emergent patterns built from mosaics of small elements, new representations on topics for which it seems we have settled for “definitive” visuals such as maps. The organic looking textures resonate and as human, we have natural attraction towards them. The calming feeling they generate is a reminder of our strong bond with nature.
Recent works have been focusing on creating comission art pieces for other people: combining their data and their stories.
